J Crew has been focusing on the bridal market quite a bit lately. When I was perusing all of the goodies online I came across this nifty fabric care set for brides/bridesmaids, this gorgeous rhinestone-encrusted sash , and this fabulously cute bow birdcage veil by Jennifer Behr. I do!
Rest In Peace Cassia!
One of my greatest joys in life is to make people feel good. The reason I love hair and make-up (other than my passion to create) is because it helps women feel beautiful and empowered. In addition to my career as an artist, I have also volunteered with many different organizations since I was 11 years old.
This past spring The Wedding Café partnered with Kapi’olani Hospital to bless a group of teen girls with a night of beauty makeovers… wardrobe included! I had the pleasure of meeting and being inspired by these brave young women when I worked on their hair and make-up. Their ability to smile in the midst of such adversity is truly amazing.
One of the lovely girls named Cassia passed away recently and I just wanted to do a quick blog to let her know that she is not forgotten. I pray from the bottom of my heart that her family will rest in the comfort of God knowing that their darling daughter has returned home. Cassia you will be missed. Xoxo.

This is such a cute graphic that I found online illustrating the qualities of LOVE.
DIY Teeth Whitening
Nowadays most people go to the store and purchase Crest Whitestrips when they want to whiten their teeth. Although Crest Whitestrips are good and work well, they are not without their faults. The two main things that may deter people from using them are #1) price, and #2) sensitivity in teeth afterwards. I love a pearly white smile, but I am someone who cannot use the strips because it makes my teeth sensitive for DAYS afterwards. Instead I like to use a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and the just brush my teeth with the paste, making sure not to swallow the paste. I leave the paste on my teeth for a couple of minutes (longer than that makes my gums sensitive) and then rinse with water and follow with a toothpaste brushing. Although this method does not whiten as much as the strips or a trip to the dentist, it does do a good job at maintaining a youthful, fresh smile. Try it! It only costs pennies 🙂
Effortless Bronzed Look
As April comes to a close many of us are dreaming of the Summer months ahead. Here in Hawai’i it’s pretty much eternal Summer, but I know many of you live in cooler climates and are getting antsy for the warmer months. Here are a few products I love that give me a beachy feel any time of year and are all quite natural and goof proof 🙂 All products listed are Clinique: 1) Self Sun Face (don’t forget to exfoliate first!) 2) Butter Shine Lipstick in “Baby Baby”
(it’s a hybrid between an lipstick and a super rich lip balm) 3) Blushing Blush Powder Blush in “Precious Posy”
